Day 5: Top 10 Reasons Why I Want to Lose Weight

You’d think after my successful weekly weigh in yesterday (2.2lbs. gone!) I’d be on a motivational high. Unfortunately, not so much. It’s now around 7:30 at night, and after spending the entire day cleaning, putting away Christmas decorations, and running errands, my motivation to partake in my daily workout routine is zilch.

So, a little technique I learned to help the old motivation factor is to write down all the reasons why I want to lose weight. (pulling out a few “fat pictures” and posting them on the fridge or tv usually does the trick too) Hopefully, by the time I’m done writing this list I’ll have a bit more better body dedication.

Top Ten Reasons Why I Want To Lose Weight:


1. I have three closets brimming with clothes that I haven’t fit into since I was a size six (yes, I was a size six once). I refuse to give them to Goodwill because someday I will fit into them again!


2. …and moreover, I am tired of wearing sweatpants and baggy t-shirts everyday because I can’t fit into anything else.

3. I gave my father a framed family picture for Christmas. He looked at it and said “is that you? Wow, that was 30 lbs ago”.

4. I’m tired of being the “biggest” girl in my circle of friends.

5. I feel like crap, mentally and physically.

6. My boyfriend is tired of hearing me complain about my weight (and tired of seeing me in the same baggy sweats everyday)

7. I’m in my late 20’s – losing weight will only get harder from here on out, so I better do it now.

8. I pay over $400 a year for a gym membership, and I have a home gym as well – what is my excuse???!!!

9. My biggest fear is that I will be in the grocery store one day and someone will pat my belly and ask me when I’m due.

10. Now that I’ve created this blog and millions upon millions of people can read this, failure is public and a million times more embarrassing (now that’s motivational!)
