Ahhh…..2008! And like the other 98 percent of Americans (probably you too, considering you’re reading this), my New Year’s Resolution for 2008 is to lose weight and get a better body. The only problem is that this has been my resolution for the last two decades….
I was always a chubby kid, “baby fat” my mother called it. The other kids in the schoolyard, however, just called it “fat”. Things only got worse when I was a teenager and I “bottomed out”, so to speak, at 205 lbs. (at five-foot-four) by my junior year. In college, I managed to drop nearly 90 lbs. on the cigarette-diet soda-diet pills-starvation diet (I hear Lindsay Lohan is also a subscriber to this diet plan). Needless to say, I gained most of it back after graduation -but managed to hang on to the nicotine and caffeine addiction.
Now, at almost 27 years old, I am determined to lose the weight once and for all. I feel like crap, look like crap, and I fear if I don’t do it now, it’ll never happen. So, I decided to start this blog to both help in my own weight loss journey, and hopefully, help others as they struggle through theirs. Through this site, I will chronicle my triumphs and failures, offer advice and information, and provide a tongue-in-cheek, self-deprecating portrait of the life of a Biggest Loser wannabe. Thanks for joining me! This is going to be a bumpy ride…
